strong appeal to the word “village”, and I have been a proponent of village-focused projects. Yet, I’d like to pose this question: are villages (as a social and geographic structure) progressive or regressive? Or perhaps a more refined version of the question is this: when is focusing on village development progressive and when is it regressive?
